Czech Expo Pavilion
The Czech National Pavilion for EXPO 2025 in Osaka embodies the idea of life energy and continuous growth. Designed by Apropos Architects, the pavilion takes the form of a rising spiral that leads visitors along a 260 metre path ascending through four levels to a rooftop terrace. The architecture symbolises the journey of personal and collective evolution, uniting movement, light and reflection.
In collaboration with AGC Flat Glass Czech and WIEDEN s.r.o., we created more than 330 glass façade panels covering 3 500 m² and weighing 55,8 tons. Each panel was produced using layered, patterned and tempered safety glass, combining technical precision with artistic expression. The subtle surface pattern captures the changing daylight and gives the pavilion its distinctive, fluid texture.
The façade turns the pavilion into a transparent sculpture that celebrates Czech glassmaking on the world stage. As light shifts through the day, the glass becomes a living element of the architecture, reflecting the motion, spirit and craftsmanship that define Czech creative excellence.
From Bohemia to Osaka. Glass in motion.
